"Meaning" is one of the most extensive subjects of modern and postmodern social sciences. One of the most innovative and comprehensive interpretations about meaning was presented by Charles Saunders Press during his lifetime. This article tries to investigate the characteristics of press semiotics, including the signification process, meaning production, use of signs, denotation, and a practical view of signs and construction of meaning. Since Press's semiotic theory in the epistemological and ontological dimension is based on the analysis of thinking and the construction of meaning, in his opinion, the world and everything in it is known from the perspective of sign and meaning, and his perception of the sign is decisive in his attitude to the world. The symbolic basis of press is the complex distinction of categories. Press defines the sign in relation to these three categories and places it in a triple process called signification. According to Press, signification relies on the three pillars of sign, interpretation (interpretation) and object, and it is based on three sides, and the theory of its meaning is created from the process of these three pillars. Press is one of the critics and philosophers of the West who have shown interest in the theory of meaning and put forward this theory in his semiotic process. Among the Muslim philosophers, Allameh Tabatabaei has also presented materials in this regard. In this article, by proposing the theory of meaning from his point of view, it is possible to compare Pers's theory of meaning with Allameh Tabatabaei's theory of meaning. Allameh's theory of meaning is proposed in the presence and acquisition of knowledge and along the lines of his validity discussions. In his opinion, the human credit system and its meaning are based on a natural and real system; which according to the interior and in fact lives with the natural and true system; Because in his opinion, every credit inevitably has a real support and the human credit system exists only in the context of society and civilization.
