King Abdulaziz Public Library is a charitable institution founded by King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on 5 Rajab 1405 AH (27 March 1985 AD) and opened on 10 Rajab 1408 AH (27 February 1987 AD). With the Royal Assent issued on 4 Safar 1417 H (21 June 1996 AD), the library system became an official charitable institution named "King Abdulaziz Public Library" with the aim of providing, organizing and making available to researchers human information resources. Today, the library is considered a complete cultural structure that allows researchers to easily access Arab and foreign knowledge treasures with its advanced equipment, modern systems and various information sources. The institution offers exclusive services for these groups through special women's and children's libraries at its headquarters and Murabba branch. In addition to these centers in Riyadh, there are two other international branches in Casablanca, Kingdom of Morocco (King Abdulaziz Al Saoud Foundation for Islamic Sciences and Humanities) and in the People's Republic of China (Peking University King Abdulaziz Public Library Branch).
