Universitat Oberta de Catalunya - UOC Library
The Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) Library is built on a fundamentally digital and virtual model, in keeping with the nature of the institution as the world's first fully online university. Unlike traditional physical libraries, it is an information center that provides uninterrupted service to students, faculty members and researchers, regardless of time and place, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Located at the heart of the university's "Virtual Campus", the library applies the "Center for Learning and Research Resources" (CRAI) approach in the digital environment, a model that enables the integration of electronic resources (e-books, databases, academic articles) directly into virtual classrooms and course materials. In addition to its digitally focused collection, it also operates a lending system that delivers physical materials to the user's home when needed. It also manages the institutional archive called "O2" (The UOC's Institutional Repository), which collects, preserves and makes open access the scientific, academic and artistic production of the university.
