Qalamos
Qalamos is a central access portal for Oriental manuscripts in libraries, archives and museums in Germany. Under the leadership of the Berlin State Library (Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin); It was implemented in collaboration with the Bavarian State Library, Gotha Research Library and Leipzig University Library (and with the support of the German Research Foundation - DFG). The portal combines the scattered manuscript heritage in Germany in a virtual environment; It offers a single point of access to more than 135,000 manuscript records and tens of thousands of digitized full texts in Asian and African languages, especially Arabic, Persian and Ottoman Turkish. A modern, digital continuation of the traditional "Catalogue of Oriental Manuscripts in Germany" (KOHD) project, Qalamos is an advanced research infrastructure that allows researchers to transcend physical boundaries and explore the relationships between texts, authors and libraries.
