Texas Tech University Libraries serve as a vital partner in the learning process of students and faculty. System; The University Library consists of four main units: the Southwest Collection/Special Collections Library, the Architecture Library, and the Peters Family Heritage Library within the Student Development Center. The University Library is a patent and trademark repository, as well as one of two designated regional repositories for U.S. government documents in Texas. The library, whose primary focus is to support academic success by making accessible 3.72 million physical volumes, electronic resources, special collections and archives, is the longest-stayed building on campus (24/7 during finals periods). It is the center of academic and intellectual discovery, providing access to approximately 191,000 online periodicals, nearly 1 million e-books, 400 databases and 1 million architecture/art images. Each major has its own “Personal Librarian,” while librarians offer personalized research support via phone, email, or the “Ask a Librarian” chat service; In addition, the award-winning Document Delivery service provides users with materials that are not in the collection.
