Notes With the improvements of the information and communication technologies, the nature of work and workplace is changing. Teleworking is an information age phenomenon growing out of information-based work as well as the rapid advance of technology. Teleworking that can be done at a distance, usually via the use of information and communications technologies. The purpose of this article is to evaluate the teleworking concept as an employment alternative for people with orthopaedic disabilities. In this context, the importance of employment of people with disabilities was emphasized. Then, teleworking as a new and flexible working way and its components were discussed. Moreover, a field survey was done in order to determine attitudes of them towards teleworking. The sample comprised 150 nonworking orthopaedic disabled persons who are living in Ankara. According to results of the study, teleworking is an employment alternative that supports participation of people with orthopaedic disabilities into the working life. Also, the social integration of orthopaedic disabled persons who are working in this way will increase.
