Other file(s) linked to this institution: FRBAMCCFR-000060-01b.xml. Turkish writings in various hands, from the 17th century; the copy of Anis el-ʿarifin is in the hand of el-Hağğ ʿAbd el-Baki, son of Bal Hasan Efendi, who was secretary of the corps of Janissaries, and who dated his work from the first day of the month of Zilhiǧǧa in the year 1011 AH (May 12, 1603).. This translation was carried out in the year 930 of the hegira (1523-1524), as the fact is mentioned in the introduction to the Anis el-ʿarifin, which is dedicated to a vizier, of whom we only find the extravagant list of titles; this booklet is divided into fifteen chapters, the list of which is given in the introduction (folios 17 verso-18 recto); its date shows that it has nothing to do with that of the same title, which was written by Shokr Allah ibn Ahmed, under the reign of Sultan Mohammed Khan el-Fatih, nor with the translation of the Akhlak el-Mohsini, or el-mohsinin, of Hoseïn ibn ʿAli el-Vaʿiz el-Kashifi, composed in 900 (1494), by Pir Mohammed, surnamed ʿAzmi, who executed it in 974 (1566), with considerable alterations; the Anis el-ʿarifin is perhaps the translation, by Aboul-Fadhl Mohammed ibn Idris Defteri (d. 982 = 1574), of the Akhlak el-Mohsini, with the same alterations, since the number of chapters of the Akhlak el-Mohsini is forty, if Mohammed ibn Idris executed it in his youth; the copy of this work ends on the back of leaf 55; راحة الارواح, treatise in Mesnevis verse, translated from an Arabic original, entitled راحة الارواح في دفع عاهة الاشباح, of Imam Ghazali, in which it is spoken of the way of treating the plague, mainly by invocations and by magical means (folio 106 recto); the work is anonymous; it is divided into a preface and three chapters; it ends on sheet 113 recto. The blank pages of this manuscript are covered with extracts from poetry, isolated verses, and quatrains; there are verses by Baki (folio 6 verso); from the Goulistan of Saʿdi (folio 11 verso); from the Hadika of Fouzouli; a divination table attributed to Imam Ğaʿfer Sadik (folio 56 verso); verses by Rahmi Čelebi (folio 67 recto); a poem on medicine (folio 78 verso); a collection of prayers, in Arabic and Turkish, for all circumstances of life (folio 93 verso). Western binding, parchment.
