(folio 35 verso) of an appendix almost as considerable and almost as important as the work itself, divided into paragraphs in which moral principles analogous to those of Kalila and Dimna are exposed, developed with the help of a tale, in the same spirit as those of Bidpaï; the Zoubdet el-nasaïh ends (folio 66 recto) with a conclusion, in which Taʿib Efendi brings together a certain number of moral and philosophical sentences; it begins with the history of Kalila and Dimna and its versions, as well as the reasons which prompted ʿOsmanzade to compose it; the title of Zoubdet el-nasaïh, which was in the original edition, both in the colophon (folio 75 recto), and in the title (folio 1 verso), was scratched and overprinted in the colophon, where it was replaced by that of Tsamar el-asmar; the text of this collection of stories was heavily corrected at the beginning of the work, these overprints and these corrections being visibly the hand of the author himself, to whom the manuscript belonged; another copy of this work can be found under number 1404; the تلخيص الحكم, treatise on ethics and politics for the use of kings, compiled by Taʿib, according to the نصيحة الملوك ترغيبًا لحسن السلوك of the raïs efendi Sari ʿAbd Allah ibn el-Seyyid Mohammed ibn ʿAbd Allah, known by the poetic nickname ʿAbdi (d. 1079 AH = 1668); the title of the Talkhis is given at the end of the work (folio 110 recto), with the mention that it indicates the date of its composition, i.e. the year 1130 AH (1718); it is divided into four sections, and dedicated to Sultan Ahmed III, son of Mohammed IV, and to the Grand Vizier Ibrahim Pasha (folio 80 verso); the اخلاق احمدى, abbreviated translation, by Taʿib, of the ethical treatise entitled Akhlak-i Mohsini, by Hoseïn ibn ʿAli el-Vaʿiz el-Kashifi, divided, like its original, into forty chapters, and dedicated to Sultan Ahmed III; the first page was not copied.
