(1798-1799); this insignificant work, in which two of the divans of ʿAli Shir and the Meǧmaʿ el-Fours, by Kasim ibn Haği Mohammed el-Kashani are cited, is essentially different from an Osmanli Turkish lexicon, entitled Mountekheb, which is described under nos. 211 and 212 of the Old collection; it is divided into two chapters and a conclusion; in the first chapter, we find the explanation in Eastern Turkish of the Arabic words; the second formed a Persian vocabulary, to which was added the explanation of difficult Turkish words; the conclusion contained the explanation of poems. The present manuscript contains only the preface and the first chapter of the Mountekheb el-loghat, the copy of which is followed (folio 97 verso) of the کتاب اللباب, collection of traditions of Mohammed, by Mohammed, (son of) Mahmoud; this pamphlet, the title of which is not indicated in the present copy, is divided into forty chapters, each of which contains ten traditions. Another copy of this collection of traditions, with a different introduction, can be found under number 2206 of the Catalog of Persian Manuscripts.. Decourdemanche.. Bukhara binding.
