Notes Arabic translation of the Planetary hypotheses (Ὑποθέσεις τῶν πλανωμένων, Book of Retribution) of Ptolemy (Claudius Ptolemaeus; c 90-c 168). The work is divided into two books: Book One (first article, ff. 81v-92v); Book Two (Article Two, ff.). The original Greek text of Book Two is lost. Book One begins (f. 81v, lines 4-6): The first article from Ptolemy's book on the body called Retribution Ptolemy said, “O Syrian, we have described the sayings that we have described regarding educational matters.” We proved this with a demonstrative analogy... Book one colophon Section at the end of a manuscript text. (f. 92v, lines 10-13): The first article of the crop is done By Ptolemy Al-Faludi and Wahib The mind always praises, there is no Lord but Him There is no god but Him Book Two begins (f. 93r, lines 2-4): The second article from Ptolemy's book on the body called retribution Talmius said: As for what is known about the proportions of astronomical movements through observations that... It has been up to this point... Book Two ends (f. 102v, lines 15-17): ...and which It meets the fourth degree, which is the distance of the center of the planet from the northernmost point of the orbit, which is tilted from the orbit Rotation is what follows from the upper bow BookTwo colophon Section at the end of a manuscript text.
