Notes
Physician Muhammad b. Chagatai-Persian dictionary written by Abdu's-Sabûr-ı Hoyî in the second half of the 19th century and presented to Abbâs Mîrzâ. Hulâsa-yı Abbâsî is a summarized dictionary based on the Senglâh written by Mîrzâ Mehdî Han (18th century) in the Chagatai field and was written by the governor of Azerbaijan and Feth-Alî. It was gifted to the Shah's son Abbâs Mîrzâ (b. 1789 - d. 1833) (Zabeti Miandoab 2010: 24; Rahimi 2018: 85). The work consists of bismillah, preface, introduction, main subject (dictionary) and hatime section. In the preface, the formation of the work is explained by giving information about root signs and derived words, and it is mentioned that the work was named Hulâsa-yı Abbasî to bring good luck and abundance. In the introduction, the rules of the Turkish language in terms of sound and spelling are included (Zabeti Miandoab 2010: 3, 21). In the main subject part of the work, the words are listed according to the Arabic alphabet (such as harfü'l-vā, harfü'l-hā), infinitives (such as meʿa'l-cîm, meʿa'r-rā) and mosque nouns (such as cevāmid). In the Hatime section, the author presented some examples of the incomprehensibility of some couplets of Nevâyî (b. 1441-d. 1501) and their content (Sadîk 2009; Zabeti Miandoab 2010). The work, which contains Persian, Mongolian, Arabic and Sogdian words as well as Chagatai Turkish, contains all the head words found in Senglâh. There are at least 6000 words per article. In this respect, it can be said that it is a comprehensive dictionary. It is known that there are approximately fifteen copies of the work in places such as Tehran and Paris. One copy of these is in Vámbéry (b. 1832 - d. 1913), and another copy is in Pavet de Courteille (b. 1821 - d. 1889) (Vámbéry 1867; Pavet de Courteille 1870). Apart from this, some copies were discovered and introduced in Iranian libraries by Şadi Aydın and thirteen copies by Farhad Rahimi (For the copies, see Aydın 2008; Rahimi 2017). Important information about the copies is that some copies of Hulâsa-yı Abbasî contain errors caused by the copyist (Thúry 1903: 6; Zabeti Miandoab: 2010: 24). The first examples of the work are in Vámbéry's Čagataische Sprachstudien and likewise in Pavet de Courteille's De Dictionnaire. It can be seen in his work titled Turk-Oriental (Vámbéry 1867; Pavet de Courteille 1870). The first introductory information was given by Hasan Eren and Zühal Ölmez in their works (Eren 1950: 145; Ölmez 1998: 142; Ölmez 2003: 18). An independent study was published as a book in Iran in 2009 by Hüseyin Muhammedzâde Sadîk, based on the Tehran Sipehsâlâr Madrasa Library copy and compared with three Tehran Parliamentary Library copies (Sadîk, 2009). In 2010, a master's thesis was prepared by Nasrin Zabeti Miandoab, in which the linguistic features were examined based on the Tehran-Parliament Library copy, the transcribed text was compared with the copies of the Tehran University Faculty of Letters Library and the Tehran University Central Library copies, and the index was made (Zabeti Miandoab 2010).
