Notes Muallim Naci's work, which includes the translations of verses and couplets he selected from the divans of Hâfız-ı Şîrâzî and Kelîm-i Hemedânî. A significant part of Muallim Naci's works consists of translations. Known especially for his knowledge of Arabic and Persian literature, Muallim Naci has translated some works from these literary fields on various occasions. One of his works to be evaluated in this regard is Sânihâtu'l-Acem. As he stated in the introduction of Sânihâtu'l-Acem, he states that while preparing his work titled Sânihâtu'l-Arabi, he decided to write such a translation of Persian Literature in line with the requests and requests of Ebuzziyâ Tevfîk Bey. However, he could not realize this decision due to his busy schedule at that time. Naci, who wrote Sânihâtu'l-Acem at the first opportunity the resources allowed, emphasizes that the work is different from Sânihâtu'l-Arab. He notes that since Persian is easier than Arabic, he will directly make a simple and understandable translation without going into some grammatical explanations. Although the name of the work bears a similarity to Sânihatu'l-Arabile, he says that in Sânihatu'l-Acem, he will be content with translating the verses and couplets he has chosen from the divans of famous Iranian poets, rather than explaining the proverbs and idioms that are considered "precedents". Because, as in Turkish, the absence of works revealing the conditions and grounds in which proverbs were formed in Persian prevented the author from applying his method in Sânihatu'l-Arab. Instead, Naci chose to create a kind of anthology by including verses and couplets with a predominant wisdom and aphorism in his translation. The work, which can also be considered as a compilation of wise verse sayings of Persian literature, has not been completed as far as it can be understood from the introduction (Muallim Nâcî 1304: 3-6). Despite the author's statement that "This magazine will contain several thousand couplets and verses", only two parts of it were published. In the first part of the work, there are 165 lines and couplets selected from Hâfız-ı Şîrâzî's Divan and gained the value of a proverb. Underneath these Persian verses and couplets, clear and simple translations were written. This chapter, titled Sânihâtu'l-Acem (Cüz'-i Evvel Hâfız-ı Şîrâzî), was published in 38 copies among Kitâbhâne-i Ebuzziyâ publications in 1304. It is the second part of the work. Part of it is titled Sânihâtu'l-Acem (Cüz'-i Sânî Kelîm-i Hemedânî). This wallet, which does not have an introduction, contains 154 verses and couplets selected from the divan of Kelîm-i Hemedânî, also known as Kelîm-i Kâşânî. The translations of these verses and couplets are given in a clear and simple style, as in the first wallet. This chapter was also published in 1304 among Kitâbhâne-i Ebuzziyâ publications, in 55 copies. Both chapters of Sânihâtu'l-Acem were published by Mehmet Atalay (2008).
