Notes
Dünbüli's amorous work. This work, written in mesnevi verse form, was written in the hezec-i müseddes-i mahzûf bahrinin mefâîlün mefâîlün mefâîl meter. He wrote this work by taking Nizâmî-i Gencevî's Hüsrev vü Şîrîn, Mollâ Câmî's Leylâ vü Mecnûn, and Vahşî-i Bâfkî's amorous masnavis named Ferhâd û Şîrîna as an example. In the introduction, the author stated the reason for writing this work by saying that anyone who wants his name to live on and his voice to be permanent in the world should tell a love story. In the work, which describes the love of the merchant Niyâz and the Egyptian prince Naz, Ferîdûn, Kâvus, Siyâveş, Selem, Tûr, Îrec, Efrâsyâb, Hz. Jacob, Hz. Yunus, Hz. Mary's names were mentioned and the verses were used through quotations and allusions. In the work where Niyâz and Naz reunite after many troubles, Naz, Niyâz, Love, Love, Loyalty and Fear are featured as heroes. In the work, where musical concepts such as hijaz, segâh, selmek, hisâr, mystical concepts such as sema, ecstasy, cezbe, enthusiasm, isolation, and astronomical concepts such as sun, camera, star, Saturn and Jupiter are mentioned, Arabic and Turkish words are used, albeit a little. According to the author, love seems easy at first, then it becomes difficult, love increases troubles, love is eternal, the sorrow of love is the main source of perfection. At the beginning of the work, Allah is praised and Hz. Prophet and Hz. Ali was praised. Although the work is amorous, the poet also included wisdom and praise. In the work consisting of 2933 couplets, it is recommended to fall in love, to avoid looking at people with beautiful faces, to trust in God's grace, to get rid of material and earthly desires, to benefit from knowledge, wisdom and religion, to fear God, to be well-mannered, to stay away from backbiting, bad words and evil spirits. Like many poets, Dünbüli also benefited from literary arts in his work. A copy of the work is in the Tabriz National Library (nr. 2816). This copy also includes Dünbüli's masnavi called Selim ü Silmî. For the poet's biography, see. “Meftûn, Abdürrezzâk Dünbülî”. Turkish Literature Names Dictionary.
