Notes Arabic supplement written by Mınık Ali Cevherî Efendi to Şakaiku'n-nu'maniyye. Its writing was probably completed between 990/1582-83 – Rajab 992/July-August 1584, in Manisa or Maraş. The reason for writing it is to bring Şakaiku'n-Nu'maniyye from where Taşköprî-zâde Efendi (d.1561) left it to the period when it was written. The work was written by Suleiman the Magnificent (d. 1566), Sultan II. Selim (d. 1574) and Sultan III. It consists of Murad (d.1595) layers. It contains the translations of the state of affairs of 96 people who died in these three periods, between 968/1560-61 and 990/1582-83. Suleiman the Magnificent and II. The work, which also contains brief information about Selim's life, political and military activities, is arranged chronologically based on the date of his death. Of the 96 biographies, 78 belong to kadis and mudarris, 15 belong to sheikhs, and 2 belong to rulers. There is also a prince's state translation. 76 of the biographies are first-hand. Nev'î-zâde Atâyî (d.1635) translated many of the information, jokes and legends in el-Ikdu'l-poem and used them in Hadâiku'l-hakâik fî Tekmileti'ş-Şakâik. Therefore, this work is the main source of Zeyl-i Atâyî. el-Ikdu'l-poem was created by making use of many written and oral sources. Among its oral sources, there are important individuals such as Ebussuud Efendi (d.1574), Muhyiddin el-Fenârî (d.1548), Çivi-zâde Muhyiddin Efendi (d.1547). In el-Ikdu'l-manzûm's biographies, most of which are voluminous, the life stories of the individuals are described in detail. There is very important information about the Ottoman scientific organization between the lines of the Hal translations. The author was outspoken in some places and did not hesitate to criticize even important people harshly. el-Ikdu'l-manzûm is also a source for the history of Turkish literature, as it provides information about the lives, literary personalities and works of fourteen poets and writers whose works are written in Turkish. The researched text of the work, together with its translation into Turkish and analysis, was published by Suat Donuk (2018). For the author's biography, see. "Cevherî Mınık Alî Cevherî Efendi".
