Notes
Şâhidî's work containing the shaving etiquette in Mevlevi order. There are 75 couplets in this Persian work written in masnavi verse form. The work was written in fâ῾ilâtün fâ῾ilâtün fâ῾ilün meter. Although it is stated in some manuscripts that this work belongs to Mevlana or Sultan Veled, Abdülbaki Gölpınarlı stated that this work does not belong to Mevlana or Sultan Veled, the language and style of the work is loose and weak and therefore it belongs to Şâhidî. After Şâhidî became affiliated with Dîvâne Mehmed Çelebi, he followed his path (çehâr-darb). and the fact that this work deals with çehar-darb shows that he is the author. Shahidî wrote Tırâş-nâme, which has a Sufi nature, for the understanding of Mevlevi order. In the work, the requirements of chahar-darb etiquette and the meaning of each darb are explained. According to the work, shaving is the cutting of the beard, moustache, hair and eyebrows with a razor, respectively. This is also called being “çehâr darb”. Each of these has a meaning. To cut the beard is to get rid of the love of the world, to cut the moustache is to get rid of the self, to shave the hair is to be humble like the soil, to shave the eyebrow is to abandon anything other than the love of Allah. Shahidī stated in Tırâş-nâme that the human body is shaped by soil, water, wind and fire, that soil indicates the poverty of man, water indicates pure conversation, and fire burns in asceticism. Shahidī stated that it is obligatory to wash two hands, face, feet and head in ablution, that shaving consists of four strokes, that there are seven gates for tying one's belt in the path of God and obeying His command wholeheartedly, and what these gates are as follows. The first door is stinginess and hypocrisy, the second is wrath and arrogance, the third door is greed and sorrow, the fourth door is hunger and patience, the fifth door is the door of ignorance, the sixth door is the door of lust, the seventh door is the door of doubt and doubt. According to Shahidi, who commemorates Mevlana Celaleddin in his work, shaving and razor means killing the soul, giving up the desires and desires of the soul, futuwwa. (youth) is to cover the shames and to be subject to the master. The work contains language errors, simple and unfounded words and rhyme disorders. Mürşide Topçu made a master's thesis on Tırâş-nâme, which has five copies (2009). For the biography of the poet, see. "Şâhidî, Muğlalı İbrahim Dede". Dictionary of Turkish Literature Names.
