Notes On leaf Ia, there is the phrase “şerh-i fiqhı Keydanî”. There is a record in the Vikaye document stating that the book was given as a trust to the son of the owner of the foundation. The foundation seal is located on leaf 1a. There are correction records, explanations and quotations in the margins. Some words and annotated sentences are outlined in red ink. Worm wounds are seen in various places (1-21) and in the corners of the cover. Opening of the skin (1b-2a) is observed. Foil numbers are shown in pencil. The foils are reddashed under the line. While the author names the work as Câmi'ü'l-Mebânî li-Mesâili Şerhi Fıkhi'l-Keydânî in the introduction, he does not mention his own name. Keşfu'z-Zunûn, Îzâhü'l-Meknûn, Hediyyetü'l-Ârifîn, Muʿcemu'l-Muʾellifîn etc. It is stated that the author of this work is Kuhistani in all of the manuscript books and in most of the manuscript catalogues. However, when this work is compared with Kuhistani's work, it is understood that not every work is the same, on the contrary, this work is a commentary on Kuhistani's work. The authors may have been confused because of the brief information given about Kuhistani and his commentary in the introduction and the phrase "semmeytuhu" and Câmi'ü'l-Mebânî li-Mesâili Şerhi Fıkhi'l-Keydânî in the lower lines. However, when the introduction is read completely, it will be understood that the author is someone other than Kuhistani. Pertevniyal, "Câmi'ü'l-Mebânî li-Mesâili Commentary Fıkhi'l-Keydânî li'l-Mevlâ Mehmud Efendi" in 1a of the copy registered at number 318 and "Küçük Kuhistani Commentary Mahmud Efendi İsmî" in 1a of Nuruosmaniye, 1440. It is understood from the records of "Câmi'ü'l-Mebânî" that the author of the work is a man named Mahmud Efendi. The work is based on the commentary [Commentary] made by Kühistani (d. 962/1555) on Keydani's (d.750/1349) treatise on the subject of prayer in fiqh, also known as Fıkhu'l-Keydânî (Mukaddimetü's-Salât, Metalibu'l-Musallî). Fıkhı'l-Keydânî] is the commentary written by Mahmud Efendi under the name Câmi'ü'l-Mebânî li-Mesâili Commentary Fıkhi'l-Keydânî.
Sample Text (1b-2a) In the name of God... Praise be to God for what has singled out for us the observance of prayers and the middle prayer... And among the issues that have been achieved is the agreement of the scholars... And when, with divine grace, I came across an explanation of the treatise on the jurisprudence of Al-Kidani by the eminent scholar Muhammad Al-Qahistani, an explanation that included precise discussions, yes... I loved to become attached to the curtains of reading his issues... I commented on some of the evidence and rulings that caught my eye and what related to resolving his contracts and revealing the veil, and I collected a summary of the issues... I named it Jami’ al-Mabanani for the issues explaining the jurisprudence of al-Kidani... In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, he opened his book with the basmalah (225a) ... Perhaps, through their spiritual marriage, moral children will be born of good deeds that lead to the highest levels of perfection by winning the bliss of connection and seeing its beauty beyond ideals. And that change and completion occurred on the day of Eid in the year nine hundred and forty-seven of the years and years. I hope to God Almighty with this completion of a good outcome and conclusion. Praise be to God for what He has given of the grant of completion and the blessing of conclusion. Prayers and peace be upon the Master of the Peoples and upon his honorable family, O God, as You bestowed upon me the blessing of closure, so complete for us the gift of faith and Islam, seal for us with goodness and good fortune, and bring us into the abode of peace with peace into the group of learned scholars from the nation of Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him.
