Ethical literacy allows individuals to critically analyze, apply and evaluate principles to improve decision-making capacity. The ethical development of individuals contributes to their acquisition of the basic skills and qualities necessary to enrich their lives. Ethical development involves the process of understanding and applying norms, values, and principles.
