Collation: i, 10 V(100), V+1 (111), 11 V(221), IV+1 (230); chiefly quinions; final leaves left blank; lacks proper catchwords but last word of final line on the verso of each leaf is usually repeated at the beginning of the first line on the following recto; pagination in pencil, Western numerals, supplied during digitization (includes inserts and flyleaves and mistakenly skips two pages each between pp. 213-214 and pp. 333-334). Layout: Written in 23 lines per page; frame-ruled (impression of ruling board evident). Script: Naskh ; perhaps three clear Turkish and Persianate hands ; main text in a clear naskh, virtually serifless, with very slight effect of words descending to basline, slight effect of tilt to the left (or right), and partially vocalized ; closing prayers appear to be supplied in a different hand ; ijāzah supplied in still a different hand. Decoration: Keywords and text being commented upon rubricated (orange-red) through p.85, elsewhere overlined in red; some rubrics have been written over in black ink (see p.45); basmalah at opening (p.6) flanked by 'gold' accents to form a very simple illuminated headpiece; written area of incipit and facing page surrounded by 'gold' frame (now to green, possibly verdigris), written area elsewhere surrounded by orange-red rule-border. Origin: As appears in colophon on pp.448-449, copied in Istanbul (Hoca Paşa school) by al-Sayyid Nūḥ ibn al-Sayyid Muḥammad Qūrīchāy (Nuh b. Mehmet Kuriçay). He began the transcription ("qad waqaʻa al-farāgh ʻan taḥrīr hādhihi al-nuskhah al-sharīfah ... badaʼtu bi-kitābatihi [sic]...") in Shaʻbān and completed the transcription (as well as read the copy in the Ayasofya) 11 Shawwāl 1180 [ca. 12 March 1767]. As appears in the ijāzah (certificate of audition) on pp.454-455 dated 1 Muḥarram 1181 [ca. 30 May 1767], the copyist studied the work in the Ayasofya with ʻUmar ibn Muṣṭafá al-Arzanjānī (Ömer b. Mustafa el-Erzincanî, عمر بن مصطفى الارزنجاني) who corrected and authorized his copy for reading/recitation (تلاوة), teaching (تدريس) and further authorized transmission (اجازة).
