Since the principle in this art was written by the first people... I shortened it into a book that contained the objectives in it and the additions in the book of Hilal ibn Yahya, and I added to it many issues and principles... and I called it Al-Isa’af fi Ahkam al-Awqaf...” [Waqf Hilāl wa-al-Khaṣṣāf] “The Sheikh, Imam, Judge of Judges, Abu Muhammad Abdullah bin Al-Hussein Al-Nashi, may God Almighty have mercy on him, said: I was interested in summarizing the book Al-Waqf by Hilal bin Yahya, so I hesitated about it for a while because of its good compilation...
