As I read the introduction to the new collection of poetry by my friend, the Saudi poet Abdullah Muhammad Bashraheel, titled (Farewell Offerings), I am filled with the joy of memories along with the joy of reading poetry and its poet, and always since my first book about him (Abdullah Bashraheel...Making the Flower of Poetry in the Perfume of Mecca), I live in the breadth of the continents of poetry, and I find it coherent in awareness, revelation, and reading. He looks at the world with conscience, humanity, and deliberation. Objectively and aesthetically, he crafts them with perfection and completely improves the aesthetic formulations of his poetic sentences. They come in line with two important rhythms in the structure of any poem, namely melody and meaning. I read the introduction and went to read his collection (Farewell Offerings), enjoying the gardens of titles, but I am in the structure of what he established here is that I worked on the poet’s being in his spiritual structure as I knew him, and the relationship of this structure to Mecca. As a spiritual place sacred to all Muslims of the world, it (Mecca Al-Mukarramah) represents to the poet Bashrahil the eternity of the obsession that haunts the poet’s love for the place of his birth and the eternity of his belonging to this place. He even once wrote to me that he could not separate his daily feelings from Mecca at the moment of manifestation and writing or the moment of practicing his professional work in life. Accordingly, the spiritual readings of the spirit of his new collection (Farewell Offerings) are built on many paths determined by the purposes and titles of the poems, and this definition is coupled with the poet’s awareness of the philosophical approach he adopts and says in his life, and all the poems here range in the magic of their logic between the rhythm of the music of the words and the sensuality of the meaning, intention, and occasion, although they are not classified into labeled boxes. He left them open for anyone who wants to enjoy himself as a reader or researcher. Or a critic. As the titles of the collection’s poems move from one station to another, all of them are implicitly linked to the obsession with life, its times, its characters, and its places. I mentioned the introduction because it is a gateway to what I wished to study within the old knowledge and references I had built up about the world of the poet, Dr. Abdullah Bashraheel. As I heard from him repeatedly, he feels that recording epic poetry (his new collection, Farewell Offerings as an example) requires an attitude, manhood, talent, and the ability to make inspiration the art that communicates with vision and wisdom as well, and this is what the poet met. It is part of the ability to make revelation a message of safety and faith, and this revelation was drawn for us by the feelings of the collection, as if, in all its contents and meanings, it was a human message for the poetry diary and an emotional tour in the maps of the soul and people’s memories. Therefore, you feel that the spiritual aspect in the collection dominates the other visions, to see it moving between the titles and moments of writing, between the subjective, the emotional, the home, the national, the philosophical, and the feelings of sadness in the elegies of those who lose their loved ones. --
