Notes Gallop, Annabel, Malay seals from the Islamic world of Southeast Asia: Content, Form, Context, Catalogue, Singapore, NUS Press, in association with the British Library, 2019.. Collection of letters in Malay, with several pieces in French and English. Translations of a letter from the king of Sumatra to James I and another addressed to Louis-Philippe by Ala Eddin Mansour Shâh, king of Atjeh; letter in Arabic and letter in English. Note from Petrus Voorhoeve (Additions and corrections, 1952): a. The original of the letter from ‘Alauddin Mansur Sjah, king of Atjeh, to Louis-Philippe, “is at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs”. b. It would be interesting to find the original letter from Iskandar Muda, king of Atjeh, to James I. According to a note by Dulaurier, Chestomathie Malaye, p. 13 n. 2 it was in a handwritten collection of documents relating to the Orient, belonging to the Royal Library, and having the title: Embassy of Türkiye. French Ms., Saint-Germain collection no. 778. The date does not correspond with that of the letter published by Shellabear in JSBRAS 1898; we would therefore have here a second letter from the famous Sultan Iskandar Muda. c. No. 5 (f. 27r and f. 28v) is a letter from Abdullan bin Abdulkadir to Dulaurier. d. We still find in this collection some letters from a certain Abdullatif b. Sjarif, in Rotterdam at J. G. F. Riedel, in Dulaurier. The writing of these letters is the same as that of some mss which come from Dulaurier. Half parchment binding. Summary notice in the catalog of Antoine Cabaton, Summary catalog of Indian, Indo-Chinese and Malayo-Polynesian manuscripts, Paris, E. Leroux, 1912, with handwritten additions and corrections (reference: 8-Impr Or-720).
