Notes Other file(s) linked to this institution: FRBAMCCFR-000060-01b.xml. 18th century writings; the Turkish text, in the hand of Hasan ibn Ibrahim el-Amasievi, who was a professor at the school of Young Languages of France مكتب فرانجه, who dated it from March 29, 1730. The Turkish text of this ethical treatise was composed, under the title of پند نامۀ پدری , in the suburb of Galata, in the year 1683 (page 312); we read, on the same leaf, that this book was paid for 1500 pounds (sic?), in a sale which took place on July 14, 1747, and, in the colophon (page 458), that the copy of the text was finished in Constantinople, not by Fornetti, but by Hasan ibn Ibrahim, on 11 Ramadhan of the year 1142 AH, that is to say on March 29 1730. The Pend name-i pederi is divided into twenty-seven chapters; the translation was signed by a certain Latina (page 8), who dedicated it to M gneur de L...; this volume was produced in the Jeunes de langue school, and it was part of the library of the Count of Pontchartrain; it seems that this book was fraudulently substituted in a sale for a work worth 1500 pounds. Turkish binding, in stamped and gilded red leather.
