Notes
17.8 x 13 cm. The beginning of the manuscript: (...And the likeness of an evil word is like a malicious tree uprooted from the surface of the earth, having no stability.) [Ibrahim: 26] Humidity did not affect the reading of the hexagram text. The narration: Al-Duri on the authority of Abu Amr. He does not adhere to the Uthmani script, but rather writes the Qur’an according to the orthographic script. He may divide a single word between the two lines, counting the verses that are mostly visual, but he may have a confusion in counting, for example. The count of Surat Maryam: 99 verses, and this is the number of verses in the surah according to the Meccan and Medinan ones, Taha counted: 135 according to the Kufic count, and the believers counted: 118 verses according to the Kufic and Homsi count, and nothing remained to Basri’s count except Al-Kahf: 111 verses, Hajj: 175 verses alone, and the Prophets: 111 verses, agreeing with others except Kufic. He made a mistake in Al-Hijr and made its number 77 verses, while the correct one was 99 verses, and he made Al-Isra’ 120 verses, which is not correct. Or with a suffix mark, such as: /and 19/. There are comments on the footnotes in red script, and the place to be commented on is marked with an error like this (X). For example, at the word (Ma’ish) Al-Hijr: 20, it is written in the footnote (Whoever recites with the hamza has disbelieved in God) /v. 5/, and this is an error on his part, as some irregular readings have been reported. And at the word (such as bad) Al-Nahl: 60, he wrote above it in red (stop) and in the footnote (This is an obligatory pause that is not permissible to be left out) /and 16/ and at the letter (fa) of the word (and let him be kind) Al-Kahf: 19 He put a sleeping sign (m) meem above it, and likewise in the footnote and wrote: (These are half the letters of the Great Qur’an if he counts one letter by letter) /and 40/.||And at (He said, Did I not tell you) Al-Kahf: 75. (Part) and after it: (This is half of the seventh) /v. 46/. The commentary may be with supplications, as in (And say, “My Lord, increase me in knowledge.” Taha: 114. He wrote (O God, increase us in knowledge and understanding) /and 66/). The grammatical vowels are the usual ones, and he did not distinguish letters that are referred to as grammatical, and he used to mark the plural meem with an error (X) meaning that there is no connection in it, and the dhammah to him is like the letter dal, like this (d). He decorates the parts and parties with a rectangle around the word and may decorate its sides. He divides the part into two parts only, the first (part) like this without any addition, then (party) and he writes its first words in red. He decorates the dividers with a slightly large red dot, then frames them with black that may be connected to them, but does not distinguish the tenth or the fifth. The line of information for the surah is written by Al-Adu above the limited letter (Sin) of (In the Name of God) at the beginning of the surah in a diagonal form from bottom to top, heading to the left. In Maryam, he wrote it along the line in three horizontal lines. In Surat Taha, in two lines, as well as Hajj. He writes the name of the surah, then the number of its verses, then the place of its revelation. He changed the naming of Al-Isra and said (the Children of Israel). He colors the word of the Majesty in red, adheres to the taqbiyah, does not write any stop signs, and marks the concealment (khaf), the declarative (n) and the inversions (m). He adjusts all the letters of the word to the familiar and makes the tidal mark (__) long. The paper is thick white. Page numbering is wrong. I renumbered them. The words (the world) and (building) and whatever is removed from them are drawn over them in an oval shape with dots inside them. Transcribed by: Abdul Rahman bin Abdullah bin Sayyid Abu Bakr.. Ibn Khidr. End of the manuscript: (Do they think that We only provide them with it of wealth and children) [Al-Mu’minun: 55]
