The author is most likely the Sunbati father Ahmed ibn Abd al-Haqq, and his son Ahmad ibn Ahmad has a translation in the books of notables. As for Ahmad ibn Abd al-Haqq and his father Abd al-Haqq, they are both well-known scholars. Their biographies were included in biographies and histories, and a number of people of their time read about them, but no books were attributed to them. From the history of the copy in our hands, we estimated that it was more likely to have been written by Ahmed the father and not the son - although there was confusion between them in the biographies - and we noticed from the copy... From the history of the copy in our hands, we estimated that it was more likely to be written by Ahmed the father and not the son - although there was confusion between them in the biographies - and we noticed from the copy that Ahmed the father’s nickname was Al-Shihabi, which is the title by which the owner of the Golden Fragments knew him, so we preferred to attribute the copy to him. In the chapter on the Imam’s preaching to women and their teaching, the copyist wrote in the margin that there is white in the author’s handwriting about half a page.# On the beginning of the copy in the introduction there is a mention of the chains of transmission narrated on the authority of Bukhari, and their branches on two pages.# The text of the two Sahihs was written in red, and the commentary in black.# There are warning lines in black and red ink.# The copy has a taqiba system, and the commentary came in black and red ink.# This is a precious copy that was not mentioned by anyone who translated Imam Ahmad. Abd al-Haqq al-Sunbati, copied from the original draft of the author, in the handwriting of a learned imam and jurist, al-Shanshuri, with comments in his handwriting. He marked the chapters and pronounced his words in red. | Date of death of the copyist: (935_999 AH = 1528-1591 AD)
