Notes
The date of copying, the date of composition, and the name of the copyist were taken from the last parts of the book, signed with the number (305). The date of copying has been confirmed from the sixth part, which is in the library of Raghib Pasha, No. (305); It was stated that the date of copying was: (Saturday the twenty-second of the month of Shaban in the year 1153 thousand one hundred and fifty-three.) - Date of the copyist’s death: alive in the year 1153 AH. | In the author’s handwriting at the end of the copy of the Holy Mosque, which is numbered (1141), it is stated that the date of the composition is: (The oath of its author and ruler was empty, to the mercy of his rich Lord, Abu Muhammad Mahmoud bin Ahmad Al-Aini, who composed and underlined this part. The twenty-first from Umdat Al-Qari in Al-Bukhari’s explanation, with which the explanation was completed, with the grace, help, kindness, and generosity of God, at the end of the first third of the night of Saturday, the fifth of the month of Jumada Al-Awwal, in the year forty-seven. Eight hundred years after the Prophet’s migration, and I began writing it at the end of the month of Rajab al-Asab in the year eight hundred and twenty, and I finished the first part on Monday the sixteenth of the holy month of Dhul-Hijjah in the year eight hundred and twenty, and I finished the second part on Tuesday the seventh of the month of Jumada al-Akhira in the year eight hundred and twenty-one, and I finished the third part on Friday the eighth of Jumada al-Awwal in the year eight hundred and thirty-three, after I had stayed in it for half a year, and there was an absence between the second. The third was sixteen years or more, and I finished the fourth on Tuesday, the ninth of Rabi’ al-Akhir in the year eight hundred and thirty-nine. Then I continued writing and composing until the aforementioned date of the twenty-first, and the period of my time in writing was ten years, with many days interspersed within it. Praise be to God Almighty for this blessing.)
Sample Text
The beginning of the manuscript: (Chapter: What is disliked about wailing over the dead) Sh. That is: This is a chapter on explaining what is disliked in terms of wailing, that is: the dislike of prohibition, and the word: what. It may be connected or infinitive. Appreciating the first: a chapter on explaining what is disliked. On the second: A chapter on explaining the dislike of wailing. On both sides there is a word: from. Graphic. It was said: It may be consequential, and the estimation: dislike of some wailing. It is as if the person who said this alluded to what Ibn Qudamah reported on the authority of Ahmad in his narration: Some wailing is not forbidden because he did not forbid Jabir’s aunt when she wailed. This indicates that wailing is only forbidden if an action is added to it, such as hitting a cheek or ripping open a pocket. He responded that he only forbade wailing after this story, because it was in Uhud, and he said in Uhud: But Hamza, may God Almighty be pleased with him; He has no weeping for him, then he forbade that, and warned against it, and Ibn Majah explained that... ...the conclusion of the manuscript: ...and in (Al-Mutala’) the saying of Hakim ibn Hizam: I was yearning, with a double letter, narrated by Al-Marwazi in the chapter on one who maintains his ties of kinship, and it is wrong in terms of meaning, and as for the narration So it is authentic, and the misconception about it is from the sheikhs of Al-Bukhari, based on the evidence of Al-Bukhari’s statement: It is also said: On the authority of Abu Al-Yaman: I swore, or I became swollen; There is no doubt, and the correct one is that it was narrated by all of them with the triple tha’a, and Al-Kirmani said: It is narrated: It is beloved from love. The part was completed with the praise and help of God. It is followed by (Chapter on the skins of dead animals before they are tanned).
