Proverbs and idioms are words of wisdom that reflect the knowledge, experience and values of the society. In this regard, it may be useful to use proverbs and idioms that are compatible with the values and culture of the society in education, especially in religious education. Proverbs and idioms can attract students' attention and strengthen cultural ties while giving examples from daily life about language, religion and values. However, there is no study on the use of proverbs and idioms in teaching the key concepts of primary school religious culture and ethics course. The aim of this study is to question the possibility of using proverbs and idioms in teaching key concepts in the primary school DKAB course, to discuss its benefits and to present application examples. Considering that storytelling provides the opportunity to focus on the subject in children's education, it is possible to think that the use of proverbs and idioms inspired by life stories in teaching religious and moral concepts will enable enculturation, meaningful learning and the concretization of abstract concepts. This study suggests that proverbs and idioms serve as important tools and are a useful auxiliary resource in teaching key concepts in the primary school dkab course. Beyond this, it reveals that the use of proverbs and idioms will improve students' ability to use language, enrich their vocabulary and thought, and will be useful in cultural transfer. In the study; Exploratory and descriptive approach method and document review, one of the qualitative research techniques, were used. Proverbs and idioms are words of wisdom which reflect the knowledge, experiences, and values of a society. Therefore, using proverbs and idioms that are coherent with the values and culture of a society in education, more specifically in religious education, could be quite beneficial. They can arouse the interests of students while providing everyday life examples on language, religion, and values which strengthen the cultural unity. Unfortunately, there has never been any research on the use of proverbs and idioms in primary education for teaching the basic concepts of ‘the religious knowledge and morality’ (RKAM) courses. The purpose of this study is to investigate the feasibility of the use of proverbs and idioms for this purpose, to examine its usefulness, and to provide examples of its application. Considering the focus-increasing nature of story-telling in children's education, it is possible to think that real life story-inspired proverbs and idioms can be used for teaching religious and moral notions which may lead to enculturation, meaningful learning, and conversion of abstract concepts to tangible. The study argues that the use of proverbs and idioms for teaching the basic concepts of the primary-level RKAM courses is an important educational medium and a valuable secondary source. Moreover, it asserts that this also improves linguistic performances, enriches vocabulary and thought capacity, and helps the cultural transmission of children. The study uses explorative and descriptive methods and document analysis as qualitative research techniques.
