The social status of the teaching profession in our society has been decreasing rapidly in recent years. In this study, where the social dimension of social status is brought to the agenda, it is aimed to critically examine the presentations of teachers' social status in the mainstream media as one of the reflections of social visibility in the sample of Religious Culture and Ethics teachers. As a method in the research; critical discourse study and thematic data analysis were used. The news samples examined were themed as positive individual presentations, negative individual presentations and professional presentations. It has been determined that the news consists of highly negative examples and is presented with striking headlines. In the category of reactionary news, where the ideological stance of the newspapers is most felt, it has been determined that the educational activities carried out by teachers in the classroom or their actions outside the school are covered in the news in a manner that will cause public debate and moral panic. During the ten-year period examined, it was observed that there was a change in both the cases that formed the source of the news and the presentation styles of the newspapers. It was pointed out that the written media should adopt a more positive attitude in reflecting the social visibility of teachers.
