According to the Turkish Higher Education Qualifications Framework, the field of theology is included in the humanities category of the sciences classification and aims to ensure that students have some competencies regarding their academic skills during their undergraduate education with the help of the education and training programs it organizes. Within the framework of the determined competencies, one of the most important cognitive and theoretical competencies is the ability of students to use the advanced knowledge they have gained in their own fields and to conduct research using this knowledge. In this context, the function of research techniques courses in undergraduate education programs of faculties of theology is of great importance. The aim of this study is; The aim of this study is to examine the importance, teaching and content of the Research Techniques course, which is taught at the undergraduate level of the faculties of theology, and its contributions to students' scientific thinking and academic skills. According to the findings obtained as a result of the research, it was concluded that the Research Techniques course taught in the faculties of theology has a positive contribution to the students' ability to use and interpret the information they have, to recognize problems and to conduct scientific studies using research methods.
