Notes In this article Prof. Dr. The translation titled "Last Invitation to the Qur'an" written by Gazi Özdemir was examined. The meaning in question contains many problematic translations and interpretations. The review was carried out within the framework of these problematic issues in the translation. The aim of the article is to present an example of the reflection of the understanding of Quran Islam on the meanings. Because it is seen that the translation was prepared based on the Islamic understanding of the Quran. According to the understanding of Qur'anic Islam, the Qur'an contains all the details about religion. Since the Quran is a very clear book, there is no need for sciences such as tafsir, hadith and fiqh to understand it. However, the basic assumptions of this approach do not agree with historical reality. In addition, the idea of understanding the Quran without referring to another source is an approach that will open the door to subjectivity. Since this approach brings subjectivity, individualism and complexity in the understanding of religion, it further increases the conflicts among Muslims and damages their qualification as an ummah. The meaning of "The Last Call to the Qur'an" is compatible with the characteristics of the Islamic understanding of the Qur'an. On the other hand, negative examples regarding translation can erode the true Islamic belief in society to a certain extent. Therefore, it should be emphasized that writing translations is a subject that entails scientific and religious responsibility. The aim of the article is to raise social awareness on this issue. Since it is not possible to address all the problems in the translation within the framework of an article, twelve sample topics in the work are included. The author's translations and comments on these issues are stated, and then a brief evaluation is made. These evaluations have been tried to be carried out within the framework of the basic sources of Islam. At the end of the analysis, the following conclusions were reached: The main idea of the author of the translation is that religion should be understood only on the basis of the Quran. As a result of this thought, he tries to interpret the Quran based only on the text. Another feature of the work is its negative attitude towards hadith and sunnah. By separating the verses of the Quran from their context, he argues that the hadith is not a source in religion. He only accepts hadiths that he thinks are compatible with the Quran. It is claimed that God's knowledge is limited, that some people will live in the apocalypse world, that these people will no longer need religion, and that some people will be sent back to the world for education after they die. The word “junub” means confusion and stupor; “Ghusl” is interpreted as waiting to recover from confusion and stupor. It is stated that ablution is a recommended practice in order to appear clean in front of society. The concept of "Salat" has been given the meaning of "engaging in social assistance and solidarity activities". It is argued that those who pray alone do not need to turn to the qibla. The word fasting (savm) is defined as "giving up eating, drinking and lustful desires as well as engaging in charitable activities". It is claimed that Ramadan fasting can be kept for three days and that Ramadan should be fixed in the winter month. The Kaaba is considered a school building, pilgrimage is considered an educational activity, and it is claimed that worshiping in the Kaaba emerged later. The worship of "sacrifice" is given in the meaning of "sacrifice something that a person values in order to meet someone else's needs". It is claimed that women are ordered to cover their breasts, not their hair. It is argued that Allah does not impose prohibitions on food and drink, and that it is not haram to drink enough to get drunk. It is claimed that the expression "Lahmü'l-hınzîr" can be given the meaning of spoiled meat. The author of the meaning is trying to create an understanding of religion based only on the Quran, in his translations and interpretations. It is based on the literal meaning of the Qur'an and does not take into account the reasons for the revelation of the verses and the hadiths of the Prophet. As a result of this approach, it tries to redefine the basic concepts transmitted in the Islamic religion and to base some non-Islamic beliefs on the Qur'an. Therefore, the study of translation must be subject to certain rules in order to accurately express the intention of the speaker. Otherwise, the purpose of the interpretation will not be realized. For this, it is necessary to be familiar with the Arabic language used in the period when the Quran was revealed, and to take into account the words and actions of the Prophet who conveyed the Quran to the people. It won't happen.
