Notes As in almost every field of social sciences, the first feature sought in Islamic Sciences and hadith criticism is that the criticism must be objective. However, it is not possible to get rid of a certain amount of subjectivity. Both the hadith criticism, the sened criticism, which means the evaluation of the narrator, and the evaluation of the content of the hadith text in the light of other data, differ depending on the critic's point of view. In this study, it is aimed to reveal the ijtihādism of the sened criticism through a narration that has been widely discussed in terms of its authenticity. The narration in question is Hz. After Ali could not perform the afternoon prayer on time, Hz. It tells about the Prophet's prayer and then the rotation of the sun. While the narration is considered a fabrication by some scholars, it is seen as a great miracle by others. The authorities' findings about the narrators were scanned with a descriptive method, and the obtained data were processed by analysis and induction method. At the end of the study, it was seen that the words of the Rijal scholars, who gave different judgments in the first period, were preferred in later periods, depending on the content of the transmitted text. In this way, the critics of the late period were able to reach various conclusions regarding the authenticity of the hadith by using the provisions that supported their view. As in almost every field of social sciences, the first requirement in Islamic sciences and hadith criticism is that the criticism should be objective. In hadith criticism, both sanat (chain of narrators) criticism, which means the evaluation of the narrator, and the evaluation of the content of the hadith text differ according to the perspective of the critic (munaqqid). This study aims to reveal the subjectivity of sanat criticism through a narration whose authenticity (sihha) has been widely debated. The narration in question tells the story of the Prophet's supplication after Ali failed to perform the Asr prayer on time and the sun was then reversed. While some hadith scholars considered this narration a miracle, others considered it a mawdu'. The determinations of the authorities on the narrators were reviewed with a descriptive method, and the data obtained were processed by analysis and induction. As a result of the study, it was seen that the reason why the early scholars reached different conclusions was the different information they obtained about the narrator. However, later scholars were influenced by the content of the text that they were criticizing and preferred the rulings of predecessors that were suited their own approach and reached different conclusions about the authenticity of the hadith.
