Notes Necmeddîn-i Dâye's (d. 654/1256) ishari commentary named Bahru'l-hakāik ve'l-meânî was written in the thirteenth century and has distinct stylistic features. The author mentioned the fact that no commentary containing all the subtle meanings of the Quran had been written before him as a reason for copyright. While the work was written by Dâye up to the Surah An-Najm, the chapters after this Surah were interpreted by Alâüddevle-i Simnânî (d. 736/1336). In his work, Dâye grouped his interlocutors in various ways and adopted a style that appealed to these groups. In addition to the parts such as common people, havas and ehassü'l-havas, groups such as ulemâ-i billâh, sheikhs, ehl-i hirka, felasife, theologians are included in the work. While interpreting the verses, the author often pointed out their literal meanings and drew attention to the literal interpretations he made with various words. While he used expressions such as "vallahu a`lem" to express that he did not know and could not know the accuracy of his comments, he warned the reader with "Fefhem" and its derivatives to draw attention to important issues. It is possible to name the first type of usage as submission expressions, and the second type of usage as admonition expressions. The author generally scolded his interlocutor in a literary style on subjects that he thought the ordinary reader could not understand; It is possible to describe these statements as statements of disbelief. Our study focuses on these stylistic features in the work, as well as the general introduction of Bahru'l-hakāik.
