Notes Since the first human being, there has been a desire to share one's knowledge and experiences with both the current and subsequent generations and to direct them to what is good and beautiful. The advice that emerged from this request was sometimes presented as direct verbal advice, and sometimes it became literary by being written down with artistic expression. These works, which have become one of the most common literary genres in Turkish literature; It appears in verse, prose or mixed verse-prose forms. Verse was often preferred in writing these works, especially because poetry facilitates memorization and learning. These types of works called verse advice-nâme; It aimed to educate the society in religious, moral and social aspects. Authors; In order to make his advice effective, he benefited from the educational power of stories and legends in his works, which he embellished with verses, hadiths, polite sayings, proverbs and idioms. Verse advice-names, which contain advice on many subjects from child education to character and religious education, are works of high educational value. In addition, advice-names that aim to educate the individual and the society are within the common interest of literature and education disciplines. In this study, the educational analysis of the work named Teʾdīb-nāme, which is a verse advice-nâme, has been put forward. The author of the work is Keşfî, one of the 16th century poets. There was more than one poet using the pseudonym Keşfî in the author's era. What distinguishes the author of Teʾdīb-nāme from other poets is that he has a son named "Atâ". Ata is the person who caused the emergence of Teʾdīb-nāme. Work; It was written after Ata asked his father, Kashfi, to write a book telling him what he should and should not do from the age of ten to the age of one hundred. This situation clearly shows that Teʾdīb-nāme is a work written by a father to educate his son. In this respect, Teʾdīb-nāme is important in terms of revealing Keşfî's mindset and understanding of education. In this study, in which Teʾdīb-nāme is examined from an educational perspective, information is given about the life, literary personality and works of Keşfî, the author of the work, and the work named Teʾdīb-nāme is introduced in outline. While analyzing the content, the master's thesis titled Keşfî Teʾdīb-nāme (Review-Text) prepared by Sibel Üst at Atatürk University, Social Sciences Institute in 2006 was used. For words whose pronunciation was uncertain, the original copy of the work registered at Atatürk University, Seyfettin Özege Library, Agâh Sırrı Levend Collection with the ASL archive number 271 was consulted. The study is organized under three headings: Keşfî's understanding of education, the language of education and the content of the work. Keşfî's understanding of education is classified as "Faith and Emotion Based Education, Needs Based Education and Lifelong Education". The author's educational language was analyzed through the addresses he used for his son, the language and style characteristics of his advice, and the educational elements he used while presenting the content. The content of Teʾdīb-nāme; It covers the whole life and the age range of the addressee is presented in five or ten year periods. For this reason, in parallel with the fiction of the work, the relevant advices were categorized as "Late Childhood Period, Adolescence Period, Early Adulthood Period, Middle Adulthood Period, Late Adulthood Period" and examined according to their developmental periods. Teʾdīb-nāme, which overlaps with the understanding of Islamic education in pedagogical and androgogical aspects, is a work that aims to contribute to the education of other members of the society in the person of Keşfî's son. While examining the content of the work, it was seen that the educational problems of the age in which it was written were parallel to those of today. Work; It offers its readers information and advice on many subjects, from personal life to religious, family and social life. The advice given by the work, which serves as a guide that will lead him to happiness in this world and the hereafter, is of a quality that will shed light on today's understanding of education.
