Madrasahs are institutions that have operated as centers of traditional religious thought in the Eastern Anatolia and Southeastern Anatolia regions of Turkey for centuries. Although these institutions do not have an official status today, they maintain their influence in the region and appeal to a wide segment of society. In these institutions, the main religious authority is the people called "seyda", who are respected and direct the society in some areas. Seyda's understanding of religion and their approach to certain issues related to religion also enable the determination of the general attitude of the people of the region in the context of relevant issues. For this reason, Seydalar was determined as the sampling ground in this study. The main theme on which the study is based is the relationship between gender and religion. This theme, which is one of the most discussed topics in contemporary Islamic thought, is also one of the main areas of interest of the sociology of religion. The issues reflected in this study are the findings of a research conducted by the sociology of religion zawiya and on some Seydas in Diyarbakır province to determine the relationship between gender and religion. A qualitative research method was followed in the process of collecting data in the study, and a descriptive style was adopted in presenting and presenting them.
