Central placement exams are an exam that is believed to be important for students to get into university and choose a career. In this regard, it is important to get the opinions of teachers and students about the exam. This research aimed to reveal the Central placement examination system based on the opinions of teachers and students. The qualitative research method, case study design, was used in the research. The study group of the research consists of 47 teachers working in five different secondary schools in Kızıltepe District of Mardin Province and 60 students studying in these schools in the 2017-2018 academic year. The study group was determined by purposeful sampling method. The data of the research were obtained with the interview form developed by the researcher. The data was subjected to content analysis. The results were coded and themes were created based on the results. According to the findings, teachers and students made evaluations regarding the examination system. According to the opinions of teachers and students, they stated that students prepared for the TEOG exam at the beginning of the year, that the new exam system negatively affected students psychologically, reduced motivation, reduced interest in the course, negatively affected socialization, and led to an increase in the number of central exam subjects.
