XX. The events that took place in Russia's international and national politics at the beginning of the 19th century affected the future of the Azerbaijani Turks, like other nations in the Tsarist regime, and after 1905, "Life" (1905-1906), "Teze Hayat" (1907-1908), "Terakki" (1909), "Burhan-i Terakki", (1906-1911), "Guide". (1906-1907), “Debistan” (1906-1908), “Behlul” (1907), “Lek-lek” (1914), newspapers and magazines in Azerbaijani Turkish started operating one after another. Among these broadcasting organizations, "Molla Nasreddin" (1906-1931), published in Tbilisi, Tabriz and Baku, and "Füyuzat" (1906-1907), published in Baku, were the two most important broadcasting organizations in terms of their lasting effects. Published with the financial support of Zeynelabidin Tağıyev, a groundbreaking businessman and philanthropist in the fields of Azerbaijan's oil industry, education and culture, most of the writer staff, especially Ali Bey Hüseynzade, the chief editor of the magazine, lived or studied in Istanbul. Thus, the magazine enlightened Azerbaijani and Russian Turks about the political, social and cultural developments in the Ottoman Empire at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, and while doing this, it also aimed to create a common Turkish language among the Turkish people. Füyuzat magazine was published in the 20th century, with the Tsarist Russia's emphasis on Turkification as an alternative to the Russification policy and the effort to create an identity based on national feelings. It played an important role in the formation of national identity in Azerbaijan at the beginning of the century. Despite this, various criticisms were made in the written press of Azerbaijan regarding the language used by the magazine, both during the publication period and in later periods. It has been claimed that Fuyuzat was written in Ottoman Turkish, which is a synthesis of Arabic, Persian and Turkish languages, and that it was understood only by the intellectuals who understood these languages. For this reason, it has been highlighted that it could not have as much impact on the masses as the Molla Nasreddin magazine, which was seen as the most important rival magazine in its time, published in Tbilisi under the lead authorship of Celil Memmedkuluzade and, in his own words, "in the open mother tongue of the Turks". In this article, the articles published in the Füyuzât magazine were examined and the 20th century. The effects on the formation of the Turkish literary language in Azerbaijan at the beginning of the century and the criticisms directed at the efforts to create a common Turkish language will be discussed.
