Notes
In this study, the notes written by a Shiite scholar who is an opponent of Sufism in the magazine number 521 in the Majlis-i Shura-yi Islamic Library will be published and the intellectual basis on which these notes are based will be analyzed. The notes in the wiki consist of two parts. 11th/17th in the first part. A short excerpt from the treatise named Kifâyetü'l-ʿÂḳilîn fî Maʿrifeti'l-Mübtedeʿîn, which we estimate to have been written in the second half of the century, includes the list of Sufism refutations written by Shiite scholars against the idea of Sufism, and in the second part, one of the first and most famous Sufi refutations written in the Shiite tradition. and contains very important information about the proportion of the work called Ḥadîḳatü'ş-Şîʿa, where there has been intense debate about who the author is until today. There is no data in the text about when and by whom the notes in the wiki were written. Kifâyetü'l-ʿÂḳilîn has not survived to the present day and there is no information about it in the sources. However, in-text data indicate that this work was written in the 11th/17th century by an unknown Shiite scholar who is an opponent of Sufism. It indicates that it was written towards the end of the century. 11./17. In the 19th century, Shiite scholars who were opposed to Sufism, based in Iran, created lists of Sufism rejections in their works in order to prove that Shiite scholars were absolutely against the idea of Sufism in the historical process. In addition, the texts written by Shiite scholars before the Safavids in areas such as akaid, hadith and rijal, which contain only a few sentences that can be associated with Sufis, were also included in this list of rejections. Thanks to these lists, they tried to build a narrative that Shiite ulema were opponents of Sufism throughout the historical process, without exception. It is understood that the treatise named Kifâyetü'l-ʿÂḳilîn was also written for such a purpose. In this treatise, dozens of Sufism refutations, some of which we have no information about, are included. In the second part of the notes in the wikipedia, 10th/16th. It contains very important information about Ḥadîḳatü'ş-Şîʿa, which is attributed to Mukaddes Erdebîlî (d. 993/1585), one of the famous Shiite scholars of the century, and whose proportion problem has not been resolved until today. According to the author's claim, Muhammed Tâhir Kummî (d. 1098/1687) stated in his work titled Tüḥfetü'l-Aḫyâr that Ḥadîḳatü'ş-Şîʿa belonged to Ardebîlî. In addition, the author claimed that a person named Ahmed Beg Yûzbâşî (11/17th century) had a copy of Ḥadîḳatü'ş-Şîʿa, copied in the time of Ardabîlî. In addition, he made an important claim about the relationship between Ḥadîḳatü'ş-Şîʿa and the work called Kâşifü'l-Ḥaḳ, and said, "A book was seen in a second-hand bookstore in Hyderabad, India, which was written by selecting some parts of Ḥadîḳatü'ş-Şîʿa, and in many places it is thought to have been written during the author's time." He claimed that Kâşifü'l-Ḥaḳ was a distorted form of Ḥadîḳatü'ş-Şîʿa. Throughout history, there have been very heated debates regarding the relationship between Ḥadîḳatü'ş-Şîʿa and Kâşifü'l-Ḥaḳ. According to the general opinion, Ḥadîḳatü'ş-Şîʿa is an unknown Shiite scholar who produced texts against the Sufis, removed positive statements about the Sufis from Kâşifü'l-Ḥaḳ, added a refutation treatise against the idea of Sufism to the text, and his new book is due to its importance in the Shiite tradition. It came into being by naming it Ḥadîḳatü'ş-Şîʿa, in reference to Erdebîlî. The author of Ḥadîḳatü'ş-Şîʿa left almost no trace of his distortions, except for a few minor details. However, the fact that Ardebîlî did not refer to Ḥadîḳatü'ş-Şîʿa in any of his works and, more importantly, that no Shiite scholar mentioned such a work of his, especially in his rical and index works, until 1060/1650, were important factors that made the attribution of this work to Ardebîlî suspicious. In addition, one of the most important data showing that the work does not belong to Ardebîlî is the mention of the death of Mirzâ Mahdûm al-Şîrâzî. In a significant part of the first-hand sources, the year 995/1587 is given as the date of death of Mirzâ Mahdûm. Erdebîlî died in 993/1585. Therefore, it is not possible for Ardebîlî to be aware of Mirzâ Mahdûm's death. This is one of the most important data showing that the work does not belong to Erdebîlî.
