Notes
In this article, the views of Hakim al-Cüşemi, one of the last representatives of the Mu'tazili theology scholar and sect, who acted on the principle of promise, in the context of the subject of "names and rules" mentioned in theological sources, will be evaluated comparatively with those of Māturīdī. Attention will be drawn to how the differences regarding the perception of sects can be explained, based on the two thinkers. Within the scope of the early discussions regarding the verdict of the great sin, the approaches and views of theological schools were compared to faith, blasphemy, polytheism, deeds, etc. Emphasis will be placed on reflections on concepts such as. In the article, it will be tried to show that the Mu'tazila school interprets the problem in question within the framework of the understanding of "va'id". It will be noted that this approach is also compatible with the principles of "el-menzile beyne'l-menzileteyn" and "justice" included in the "Usûl-i hamse", which constitutes the belief principles of the Mu'tazila. Although Māturīdī did not use the title “esmā-ahkam”, it will be seen that he discussed the issue seriously and directed various criticisms to Mu'tazila in this sense. While Cüşemi's and Mâtürîdî's approaches are evaluated together, the problems discussed under the title of "esmâ ve ahkâm" in the chapter of sem'iyyât in theology books will be included.
