Notes
This research is about the relationship between domestic violence and academic success. The research covers 9th grade students attending secondary schools in Bağlar, the center of Diyarbakır. The study covers a total of 1750 students. The data of the research were obtained from the survey form administered to the students and the violence scale[1]. In the research; It has been determined that factors such as the education level of the parents and the professions they have and the income level of the family are factors in the occurrence of domestic violence, children who are exposed to violence receive low scores in the TEOG exam, which is an important academic criterion, so they attend schools with low scores such as Imam Hatip High School or Vocational High School, students attending Science High School constitute the category least exposed to the types of violence experienced in the family, students attending Anatolian High School are exposed to less violence than students attending Imam Hatip High School and Vocational High School. As a result, a relationship was found between domestic violence and students' academic achievements.
