Notes In the letter, "Numero 6, from Berlin, Friday, June 10, 1327/We stayed in Berlin for five nights. We traveled a lot. We learned about Berlin and saw places that no one can see with money. We are leaving this evening, that is, for up to two hours. From now on, we will not stay anywhere for five days like this. We will not sleep in any place for more than two or three nights. Our mother will cry before we unpack and collect our belongings. I have put on our ritual the places I will visit and where I will be on which day." If you look at the paper, you will understand. Ten days of our trip have passed. I hope the other side will be enjoyable. On the night we arrived here, after dinner, they took us in open-air cars, wearing fez uniforms, and showed us the most famous streets, avenues, squares and gardens of the city. They showed us all the palaces and famous neighborhoods in the evening. We went to the banquet at the Şehremi's Office in Istanbul and Beyazıt. If I were to try to describe these banquets in my room from morning to evening, I would like to point out that it is in my notebook. When I come back, I will read it (on the second page). I am bringing pictures of most of them. There are hundreds of guests at the banquets, including high-ranking officials, merchants, bankers and deputies. Music, champagne, speeches, we woke up at midnight. Everyone was drunk with joy, coffee, cigarettes. Everyone was friendly with each other. We went to the hotel and went to bed until seven o'clock. I had it made in a red bag. It's written on it. I'll take it and show you. If it goes like this, I think I'll have your red bag taken here too. I'm terrified. I'll give you everything from our cigarettes [page 3] to our cars. Çocuklarıma, torunlarıma, damadıma, kai'n valideme, öteki köşktekilere ve bütün ev halkına selam ederim. 'Afiyette olunuz. Ben biraz yoruldumsa da şampanya ile (...) 'ilac yerine geçiyor. Vücutca pek iyiyim. Yemekler pek iyi midem rahat. Her şeyim yerinde. Cenab-ı Hakka şükürler olsun. Siz de kendinizi gözetiniz. Midenize, sıcaklara dikkat ediniz. Arslanım efendim. "I took a picture. They will send it to Istanbul in fifteen days. Only if it is done by then. You will see how beautiful it is." written.; -
