The translation of the Bible as a whole into Turkish was made in Istanbul in 1664/1666 by Ali Ufki Bey, who was of Polish origin, later converted to Islam, and served in the Ottoman palace for many years. Levinus Warner, the Dutch ambassador of the period, followed this translation process in Istanbul and sent the translated texts to the Netherlands for checking and printing. However, the translation was published in Paris in 1827 due to some problems. In the following years, Ali Ufki Bey's translation was published many times in 1878, 1885, 1886, 1901, 1941 and 2001, with some changes and corrections taking into account the linguistic characteristics of the period. In other words, the Turkish translation of the Bible used today is basically based on Ali Ufki Bey's translation. For this reason, Ali Ufki Bey's translation and tracking the process of this translation reaching the present day is very important. Because the translation of the Bible into Turkish and bringing it to the present day was achieved with the contributions of Protestant Christians and the Bible Company, and Ali Ufki Bey's translation has been and is constantly used as the main source in Christian missionaries to the Turks.
