Amasya, which has an ancient history, was conquered in 1075 by İltekin Gazi, known as the "Conqueror of Amasya", one of the commanders from Danişment, and turned into a Turkish-Islamic land. During the Anatolian Seljuk State period, the city was called "Dâru'l-İzz" (Home of Glory) and madrasahs such as Halifet Gazi Madrasah, Gökmedrese, Alaca Yahya Madrasah and Ata Bey Madrasah were built during this period. Thus, the city has become one of the most important education centers of the region. Amasya, which was known as the "City of Princes" during the Ottoman period, preserved its political, economic and geopolitical importance and strengthened its position as an important scientific and cultural center in Anatolia with its madrasahs. It has been determined that there are more than 40 madrasahs in Amasya. Although some academic studies have been conducted on Amasya madrasahs, sufficient emphasis has not been given to independent studies on their teachers. New research is needed on these issues. Our study is an effort to contribute to this need. II. Archival documents related to Amasya muderris were identified in the Meşîhat Archive, where the prosopographic information of the officials of the ilmiye class during the reign of Abdulhamid Khan (1876-1909) was recorded. Important information was obtained in these documents, which have not been examined academically before. The main purpose of the study is to examine the teachers of Amasya in the last period of the Ottoman Empire, according to the Meşîhat Archive. The study was conducted by Amasya professors Seyyid Hacı Mehmed (d. ?), Abdülaziz Efendi (d. ?), Zanavîzâde Mehmed Emîn Efendi (d. ?), Ahmed Hilmi Efendi (d. ?), Mustafa Tevfik Efendi (d. ?), Muharrem Efendi (d. 1918), Süleyman Sadeddîn Efendi (d. ?) and Ali Efendi (d. ?). ?). The study focused on issues such as the identity information of the mentioned professors, their educational background, teachers, courses they studied, licenses, places of duty, services and job qualifications. It has been determined that Amasya is an important center of attraction in the educational life of the region with its madrasahs and teachers. It has been determined that teachers were appointed to some important positions in the state. When the licenses of the teachers were examined, it was seen that the teachers in the licensure line united with Ebû Saîd Muhammed el-Hâdimî and from then on they continued in two main branches. It has been determined that one of these branches is based on Imam Bukhari and the other is based on Abu Hanife. The study is a periodic, descriptive and qualitative research. The document analysis method based on examining and evaluating Ottoman archive documents related to the subject is used.
