Yemen, known since ancient times as Happy Arabia, is an Arab country, located in the far south of the Arabian Peninsula in Asia. It is characterized by its very important geostrategic position and by the control of the Bab Almendeb Strait at the southern entrance to the Red Sea in the east. Its maritime coast extends over 2500 km to the east, the Gulf of Aden, the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean to the south. Likewise, its historical, civilizational, cultural and commercial wealth has made it a subject of covetousness for powerful countries for centuries: Rome and Byzantium initially, then the Portuguese and the Ottomans, followed by the French, the British, the Russians and today the Americans. Everyone has tried or is still trying. This study aims to identify the Turkish borrowings still used today in the North Yemeni dialects (Sana'ani, Dhamarian and Taïzien). The article is divided into two parts; theoretical and practical. We adopted a descriptive approach for the theoretical part and an analytical approach concerning the Turkish loanwords in our dialects. We found that 165 Turkish loanwords are still used in Yemeni dialects. Most of them have been in use for a century after the Ottomans left Yemen, with their original pronunciation and meaning.
