Originally in eight books, only Books 1 to 4 survive in the original Greek; Books 1 to 7 are preserved in Arabic, and are presented here in the edition/translation by Muḥyī al-Dīn Yaḥyá ibn Muḥammad ibn Abī al-Shukr al-Maghribī (Muhyi al-Din Yahya ibn Muhammad ibn Abi al-Shukur al-Maghribi; d. between 680/1281 and 690/1291), who provided a preface (fol. 38r, line 7-38v, line 4). After foll. 61v the diagrams are missing in the text and may be found on ff. 194v-201v. Contents: First Article (Book 1; ff. 39r-69r); Second Article (Book 2; ff. 69r-89v); Third Article (Book 3; ff. 90r-114r); Fourth Article (Book 4; ff. 114v-127r); Fifth Article (Book 5; ff. 127v-155v); Article Six (Book 6; ff. 156r-173r); Seventh Article (Book 7; ff. 173v-193v). Beginnings (fol. 38r, lines 2-4): Praise be to God, the Most High, His eternal benevolence, His great authority, His unique proof of power and might. The one who is united with the radiance and the kingdom, transcendent in perfection beyond forms and forms, transcendent beyond limits and ends The Creator of existence and the overflowing of goodness and generosity. Illusions are not sufficient for Him, His description cannot reach the limits of dreams, and He is not encompassed by eternity Ends (fol. 193v, lines 10-12): ... As we have presented, it becomes clear that the ratio of the square of A and H to the excess is between the squares of R and Q It is greater than the ratio of the square of A H to the superiority between the squares of Th E and its right, so the superiority of what is between their two squares is greater than the superiority of what is between the squares of R H and its right and clear. Also, the virtue of what is between the squares of Z and its right is greater than the virtue of what is between the squares of D and its right. Colophon Section at the end of a manuscript text. (fol. 193v, line 13): The seventh article from the book Conics by Apollonius the Engineer was completed on the twenty-sixth of December in the year 1834 of the Christian era (!)
