Encyclopaedia of the art of medicine composed by ʿAlī ibn al-ʿAbbās al-Majūsī al-Arrajānī (Ali ibn al-Abbas al-Majusi al-Arjani) for the Būyid king (king) ʿAḍud al-Dawlah (Add al-Dawlah, reg. 949-83), which explains the works other title: The Royal Book. The text is divided into two books (two parts), the first dealing with theory and the second with practice. Each book is divided into ten chapters (articles), which are further subdivided into parts (sections).
Each part is preceded by a table of contents (Index: Part One ff. 2r-3v, Part Two f. 182v).

Book One was completed at Cairo on Friday 20 Dhū al-Qaʿdah 984/8 February 1577, by the Jacobite Christian Yuḥannā ibn ʿAbīr (?) ibn Abī al-Faraj ibn Gabrīāl (?) ibn Faḍl Allāh al-Manfalūṭī (Yuhanna ibn Abīr [?] ibn Abu Al-Faraj bin Gabriel [?] bin Fadlallah the Christian Christian Al-Yaqubi Al-Manfaluti), a native of Ikhmīm, who copied the text for his own use (see
