Notes An introduction to medicine for students in the form of questions and answers divided into ten chapters (chapters) by the famous physician and translator Abū Zayd Ḥunayn ibn Isḥāq al-‘Ibādī (Abu Zayd Hunayn ibn Ishaq al-Abadi, d. 873). The work is based on the Ars medica (Τέχνη ἰατρική) by Galen of Pergamon (Galen; d. ca 216). The copy is the work of at least three subscriptions (ff. 2r-23r, 23v-35v, and 36r-100v) and is defective at both the beginning and end. There are no chapter headings, but marginal notes mark the beginnings of some chapters and indicate they have been collated. The collation note for Chapter Six is dated 656 AH/AD 1258 Contents: Chapter Three of Ten (ff. 2r-9r); Chapter Four of Ten (ff. 9r-?); Chapter Six of Ten (ff. 28v-?) Beginnings (f. 2r, 1-6): [...] Something every one has of health [...] Chronic (?) and the condition that is neither healthy nor sick in three cases Things and what is. Either in the body in which it is located One of these three cases or the reason Who does it or memorizes it and what is the evidence that indicates it On her... Ends (f. 100v, 10-13): ...And as for... The situation in which it is praiseworthy is that it is bitter Such and such a time is not such and such, then if it is so It indicates that the wind is light and has little thickness
