Treatise on diseases of the eye by ‘Alī ibn ‘Īsá al-Kaḥḥāl (Ali ibn Isa al-Kahhal; fl. first half of 11th century), the leading oculist of his time at the Abbasid capital, Baghdad.
The copy was completed on Tuesday 3 Dhū al-Qa‘dah 894/29 September 1489 at Sāveh (Al-Sawa, Iran) by Aḥmad ibn Niẓām al-Dīn al-Awīb (?) (Ahmad ibn Nizam al-Din al-Awīb [?], see

The text is divided into three books (articles):
Book One (first article, ff. 1v-20r);
Book Two, in which I discuss perceptible eye diseases (the second article in which I discuss perceptible eye diseases, ff. 20v-150r);
Book Three, in which I mention imperceptible eye diseases (ff. 150v-197v).

Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, and blessings be upon Muhammad and his family
Ajm [Ain] A message that includes the words in the Sheikh’s message
The scholar Ali bin Issa Al-Kahhal answered what he asked
Some of his brothers in the knowledge of eye diseases...
Ends (ff. 197r, line 10-197v, line 2):
...and me
I ask you, may God bless you, if you read it to think carefully
Or some of your brothers read it, so I used it in writing it
It means fulfilling your needs, and if there is a mistake in it, you can correct it
Please consider it carefully and reward me for it
