Unique red spelling of the Buddha epithet <I>atı kötrülmiš</I> "He whose name
is sublime" (UWNom II.2, 36) in line /v/3/. The line layout sometimes deviates from the specified line ruling, cf.
e.g. /r/2/, /r/3/. — black, red — Uigur script → Square script — paper — The preserved line section deals with the 32 <I>lakṣaṇa</I>s (<I>iki kırk irü bälgü/lakšan</I>)
of the Buddha (<I>ulug är</I>, Skt. <I>mahāpuruṣa</I>). A detailed mention of these
32 Lakṣaṇas is in the Old Uighur Buddhist literature (e.g. Maitrisimit,
Chapter II; <I>Altun Yaruk Sudur</I>, Suv 645-647) is well documented. See also Barutçu
(1987), 11-33. Among the 32 features listed in Suv 645-647 is the following
