Notes It is a detailed prose commentary of the Sufi poetic work Gülşen-i Râzadlı written by Mahmûd-ı Şebüsterî. In this complete commentary written in the ninth century Hijri, Ni'metullâh-i Nahcuvânî addressed those who had just entered the path of Sufism, explained the principles of Sufism, explained the levels of wisdom and comprehension of the Sufis, and expressed what the Sufis meant by eyebrows, eyes, wine, candles and taverns. This work, which analyzes the understanding of unity of existence and metaphors, has been among the constantly consulted works after the Holy Quran, hadiths and Mevlana's Mesnevi. In his work, Nahcuvani benefited from literary arts, Arabic compositions, Arabic proverbs and poems, verses and hadiths, sayings of Sufis, stories, stories of prophets, stories of Sufis, religious narrations, sayings of elders, philosophical, theological and astronomical terms. Before commenting on the work, Nahcuvânî wrote an ornate introduction, where he expressed the Sufi thought of the period, and then he annotated Gülşen-i Râz sometimes line by line and sometimes couplet by couplet. He was greatly influenced by the commentaries written before him, and unlike other commentaries, he quoted a small number of poems. The author, who did not sacrifice the meaning to the words, used Muhyiddin İbnü'l-Arabi's theory of unity of existence at every opportunity while commenting on the work. In the work, which was deemed acceptable in the eyes of scholars, a plain, simple and fluent language was not used, but heavy, long and intricate sentences were included. A copy of the commentary, one-third of which consists of Arabic phrases, is in Suleymaniye Library Lala İsmail Pasha no. It is registered at number 168. For the poet's biography, see. “Baba Nimetullah, Nimetullah Nahcıvanî”.Turkish Literature Names Dictionary.
