Notes A history and biography work prepared by Kudsî, using the works of researchers from different nations such as Herodotus, Strabo, Taberî, Kazvinî, Kâtip Çelebi and Karamzin (Bakıxanov 2010: 6). Bakıhanov worked on this work for a long time (Muhtaroğlu 1993: 201). Bakıhanov's awareness of Western culture makes the work different from its counterparts in the Eastern world in terms of both method and narrative style (Yazıcı 1991: 543-544). Gülistân-ı İrem; The introduction section consists of five chapters that form the main body of the work. In the introduction, the geographical location of Azerbaijan and Dagestan, the origin, language and traditions of the people living here are explained. In the first part, the period from the birth of Islam to the arrival of the Arab armies in the Shirvan and Dagestan regions is discussed. The second part is devoted to the period from the arrival of the Arab armies to the region until the Mongol invasion. The third part covers the period from the Mongol period to the emergence of the Safavids. In the fourth chapter, the historical process from the early periods of the Safavids to the death of Nadir Shah is explained. In the fifth chapter, light is shed on the events in the period from the death of Nadir Shah to the agreement signed in the Gulistan village of Karabakh. In the conclusion section, in addition to the information given by the author about himself, the life stories of 24 poets, writers and scholars are included (Akpınar 1994: 48; Bakıxanov 2010: 11-12; Bayram 2011: 114). Bakıhanov prepared his work Gülistân-ı İremadlı in Persian. He translated some of the sections into Russian and published them in the Kafkaz newspaper in Tbilisi in 1846 and 1848 (Bakıxanov 2010: 8). The entire work was published in Russian for the first time in 1926 (Bayram 2013: 151). The Persian text was published in its entirety for the first time in 1970, with a preface in Azerbaijani Turkish, English and Persian (Yazıcı 1991: 544). The first translation of the work into Azerbaijani Turkish was made by Mir Cafer in 1902, but the work could not be published because permission from the censorship could not be obtained. It was first published in Azerbaijani Turkish in 1951 (Aliyev 2007: 45). For the author's biography, see. "Kudsî, Abbaskulu Ağa Bakıhanov".Turkish Literature Names Dictionary.
