Notes The work written by Ömer Fânî Efendi to ensure a correct understanding of Sufism.  The full name of the work is el-Huccetü'n-neyyire fî beyâni't-tarîkati'l-münîre.  The work consists of forty-three pages and, according to Kâtib Çelebi's record, was written in 1026/1617 (Çelebi 1941:I,631).  The place where it was written is Istanbul. The work was written to ensure understanding of real and correct Sufism, to eliminate the criticisms against Sufism and Sufis, and to eliminate the suspicion that had arisen, based on the mutual arguments and criticisms that broke out between the Zahir scholars and Sufis (Kâdızâdeliler-Sivasî struggle) in Istanbul in the 17th century. Ömer Fânî explains this situation immediately after the work. He expressed it at the beginning (Fânî Yzm 3808: vr. 9b; İdiz 2011:104). The main theme of the work is the subjects of dhikr, sema' and deveran, which have been subjected to criticism from time to time by zahir scholars. Ömer Fânî Efendi first addressed these three issues from a superficial perspective; He presented evidence regarding the permissibility of these by providing evidence from the Quran, the Sunnah and the opinions of scholars. In the Hatima section, he dealt with the same subjects, this time by giving more space to esoteric evidence and the views of the Sufis on this subject. Meanwhile, it is seen that our author occasionally includes the opinions of opposing scholars and tries to refute them with the evidence he brings. Thus, it is as if to his interlocutors; It seems that what he means is that the evidence you put forward does not show that dhikr, sema' and devera are haram, but that they are permissible (İdiz 2011: 26).17. The work, which has the language characteristics of the 19th century, was written in plain Arabic and in prose. The only copy we have identified of the work mentioned by name by Kâtib Çelebi (Çelebi 1941: I,631), Bağdatlı İsmâil Paşa (Bağdatlı 1951: I,798) and Mehmed Tahir (Bursalı 1333/1915:I,118) is from Istanbul University. Library, Arabic Manuscripts, no. It is located in 3808. For Fânî's biography, see. “FÂNî, Ömer Efendi”.Turkish Literature Names Dictionary.
